Sex Offenders

Yesterday, December 11, 2024, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the Cross County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit and Sex Offender Coordinator conducted a compliance check on Michael Hart located 306 Bowden Street in Wynne. Upon completing the investigation, it was determined that Mr. Hart was delinquent with the State of Arkansas and had not completed his State Offender Registry requirements. Mr. Hart has been charged with Failure to Comply with Registration and Reporting Requirements and is currently in the Cross County Detention Center awaiting a bond to be set.

On December 12, 2024, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Cross County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit and Sex Offender Coordinator discovered, after completing an investigation, that James Gracey was living in a shed off Ash Street. It was determined that James Gracey, a Level 4 Sex Offender, was out of compliance with the State of Arkansas therefore he was arrested and charged with Failure to Comply with Registration and Reporting Requirements and Registered Offender Living Near School, Public Park, Daycare, or Church. Level 4: Is a Sexually Dangerous Person. This refers to a person who has been adjudicated guilty of a sex offense or acquitted on the grounds of mental disease or defect of a sex offense and who suffers from a mental abnormality or personality disorder that makes the person likely to engage in predatory sex offenses. These are individuals with impaired judgement or control who have sexual or violent compulsions that they lack the ability to control. This may be due to pedophilia or other disorder of sexual attraction, mental illness or personality disorder that distorts thinking, interferes with behavioral control, and predisposes the person to acts of predatory sexual violence. Mr. Gracey is currently in the Cross County Detention Center awaiting a bond to be set.
